For as long as I've known there has been a writer living in me, revelling in the comfort of imagination, spying inspiration in the small things, seeing stories and poetry in the everyday.

In 2023 a small, furry, Shih Tzu shaped blessing zoomied into my life, landing in my lap. He needed a new home and I needed a new feeling of home in my heart. Together we got fresh names and fresh starts. I was now sharing life with inspiration ‘perdoggified’.

Then, one warm, sunny November day at the beach in Cornwall, whilst laughing at Oakley dodging the tide puddles in the sand, I made the throwaway comment, “There's a story in that”. It landed on the ears of my sister and she made sure that there was no turning back. Oakley had to be shared with the world.

Though we are private in nature Oakley's stories are too pure a gold not to be told.
